Airfry Tebasaki Japanese Chicken Wings "Nagoya Style"

Equipment

  • Airfryer
  • Sauce Pan

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g Chicken Wings

Coating

  • 2 tbsp Potato Starch or corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Coarse Ground Black Pepper

Glaze

  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mirin
  • 1 tbsp Sake
  • 1 tsp Ginger juice
  • 1 clove Medium garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp Black vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp Shichimi Togarashi Optional for seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Season chicken wings with salt and ground pepper.
  • Coat with potato starch (or corn starch).
  • Preheat Airfryer 200 C - 3 minutes then airfry at 160 C for 24 Minutes ( Flip halfway through). To achieve crispy chicken wings double airfry at 200 C for 6 minutes ( flip side 3 minutes).
  • Prepare all ingredients for the glaze.
  • Combine all together in a bowl.
  • Heat sauce pan and put the glaze mix. Stir consistently until big bubbles comes off.
  • Coat evenly the chicken wings with the glaze.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve. You can also add Shichimi togarashi as seasoning for a bit of spice.

Notes

If you can't find mirin, you can just use sake.
You can find most of seasonings at Asian store or section in a grocery. 
If there is nearest Daiso to your place, mostly they have mirin, sake, black vinegar, and Shichiri togarashi.
